As well as our extensive and exciting program of open gardens, which can be found here, Australia's Open Garden Scheme also has an exciting range of Special Events throughout the year.
Some events require pre-booking and as numbers are strictly limited we urge you to book well ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
Sustainable Landscpaes at the Baghurst garden

Winner of the Sustainable Landscapes Native Gardens Award for Best Home Garden, this is the perfect example of a well-designed, sustainable and climate-compatible garden.

Following the contours of the landscape, the Baghurst garden enhances the modern architecture of the sustainable home and frames breathtaking views of the coastline.

Sweeping garden beds are planted with a wide diversity of native shrubs, groundcovers and grasses surviving on natural and harvested rainwater.

Experts from the Adelaide Botanic Gardens Sustainable Landscapes Program will lead walks and talks around the garden at 11.30am and 1.30pm.

Directions: UBD 304:P12. From Adelaide take Victor Harbor Rd; before Victor Harbor turn left into Waterport Rd, left into Heysen Rd (northern continuation of Brickyard Rd)
Open: 10am-4.30pm. $8.00, no charge for children under 18

Join Tamie Fraser in the historic and significant garden of Anlaby for a high tea of fine food and wine.

President of Australia's Open Garden Scheme, Tamie will speak about her love of gardens and her involvement in the Scheme since its inception in 1987.

Anlaby is one of South Australia's most fascinating historic gardens with its century-old oaks and formal rose garden. Set around an impressive homestead and stables, the gardens are currently being lovingly restored by owners Peter Hayward and Andrew Morphett.

Join Peter and Andrew on a guided walk of this fascinating property and hear their plans for restoring it to its former glory.
