OPEN GARDEN SCHEME CEO TO STEP DOWN The long-standing and much-respected CEO of Australia's Open Garden Scheme (AOGS) Neil Robertson has announced that he will step down at the end of March 2010. "After more than 17 years in the role, it is time to move on. The Garden Scheme has been a wonderful part of my life, but now I wish to pursue other interests and opportunities," he said. AOGS President Mrs Tamie Fraser said that the Scheme was very sorry to see Neil leave, but understood and respected his decision and wished him every success in the future. "Neil's knowledge and drive has been central to growing the Scheme since its beginnings in Victoria more than 20 years ago to the present highly successful national organisation, opening over 600 gardens each year. His vision and enthusiasm have welded together countless volunteers throughout Australia to create the second largest garden scheme in the world. The garden-related events that we run in each State are at the cutting edge of best practice. Neil Robertson's leadership has been pivotal to all our achievements and I thank him for his enormous contribution," said Mrs Fraser. |
